Road reopens after fatal pedestrian-involved crash in northwest valley

AS VEGAS (KSNV) — UPDATE| Around 10:55 p.m. troopers and investigators cleared the scene.

Buffalo Road was reopened as well.

ORIGINAL| The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that turned fatal Wednesday night in the northwest valley.

According to the NHP traffic board, the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. near Buffalo Road and Summerlin Parkway.

Trooper Smaka says that a white male pedestrian crossing Buffalo Road outside a marked crosswalk was struck by a white Ford transit van.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

Buffalo Road is closed in the area until at least 11:00 p.m., and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

No impairment was suspected on the part of the driver.
