I-15 closure in Salt Lake City Area After Deadly Multi-car Crash

KUTV in Salt Lake City reports that Troopers shut down the northbound lanes of I-15, in the Draper, Utah area, after several cars were involved in a crash on the northbound interstate between 12300 South and 11600 South just before 1 p.m on Monday morning.

Five vehicles were involved in the collision and several people were transported to the hospital with injuries. The driver of a box truck that was struck by an RV died at the scene. Weather may have contributed to the crash, according to UHP Sergeant Todd Royce, who said witnesses and troopers reported very heavy rain in the area at the time of the crash.
