Three hospitalized, one critical after crash near Windmill and Gilespie

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Three people were hospitalized after a Nissan Altima crossed in front of a Dodge Ram towing a utility trailer at the intersection of Windmill Lane and Gilespie Street.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Nissan was stopped at a stop sign at Gilespie Street shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, then attempted to drive through the intersection as the Dodge Ram drove eastbound on Windmill.

There are no stop signs on Windmill at that intersection, and the Ram struck the car on the passenger side.

The 62-year-old driver of the Nissan suffered moderate injuries in the crash. One of his passengers, a 61-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries. The second passenger, a 56-year-old woman, was critically injured.

All three occupants of the Nissan were sent to UMC trauma. The driver of the Dodge stayed at the scene and cooperated with detectives. Police did not find any signs of impairment.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments Collision Investigation Section.
