LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Twenty-four deaths were reported on Nevada roads last month, staying mostly flat from a year ago but going up significantly from March.
New figures from the state's Office of Traffic Safety show fatalities reported in April were up from the 23 deaths reported in the same month a year ago.
The number of deaths is also up from the 14 fatalities reported in March this year.
"In a month where we were asked to stay home, 24 fatalities is unacceptable," Andrew Bennett, spokesman for the Office of Traffic Safety, tweeted Thursday.
So far, there have been 87 deaths on Nevada roads this year, compared to 88 deaths reported over the same period in 2019.
There have been 53 traffic-related fatalities in Clark County through the first four months of 2020, down from the 61 deaths reported between January and April last year.
