One person critical after motorcycle crash in south valley

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a motorcycle crash in the south valley that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the crash happened just before 1:30 p.m. and was between a motorcycle and a vehicle at Valley View Boulevard near Russell Road.

Evidence, witness statements and video footage of the collision indicate that the motorcycle, a 2015 Honda, was heading northbound on Valley View Boulevard. A 2011 Ford Edge being driven by a 30-year-old male was going southbound and making a left turn into a parking lot.

The motorcycle struck the right side of the truck. The 32-year-old rider was taken to UMC Trauma and is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment nor did he claim any injuries.

The collision is still under investigation.
