LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left one person dead Thursday morning in the central Las Vegas valley.
The collision was reported just after 4:20 a.m. at Decatur and Carmen boulevards, just north of Washington Avenue, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
One car was heading south on Decatur when it collided with a second car heading east on Carmen, police say.
The driver of the eastbound car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the southbound car left before officers arrived, and it's unclear if impairment is a factor.
A passenger in the southbound car was also taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Police initially said that passenger was in the eastbound car.
LVMPD's fatal detail team is responding to investigate. No other details were immediately available.
