Woman struck, killed by bus in downtown Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A woman has died after she was struck by a bus in downtown Las Vegas late Wednesday night, according to authorities.

The crash was reported just after 11:40 p.m. Wednesday at Bonneville Avenue and Main Street, said Lt. Adrian Beas with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Investigators believe an RTC bus was going south on Main and turning east onto Bonneville when it struck a female pedestrian, he said.

The woman was taken to UMC, where she was pronounced dead.

In a statement released Thursday morning, LVMPD said they believe a 75-year-old woman was crossing Bonneville in a crosswalk south of the intersection when she was hit.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
