Pedestrian killed while crossing street near Las Vegas, Desert Inn

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a pedestrian was killed while crossing the street against a "do not walk" pedestrian sign near the Las Vegas Strip.

According to authorities, a man was crossing the street just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning when he lost traction and fell down in front of a vehicle crossing Las Vegas Boulevard north of Desert Inn Road.

The front of the car struck the pedestrian. When the Clark County Fire Department arrived, they pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The man's death makes it the fourth traffic-related fatality for LVMPD this year.
