Motorcyclist killed in crash on Las Vegas freeway interchange

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A motorcyclist died after crashing into a barrier wall on a freeway interchange in Las Vegas Tuesday night, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported just after 10:50 p.m. on the ramp going from the westbound 215 Beltway to northbound Interstate 15, Trooper Travis Smaka said in an email.

Investigators believe the motorcyclist was riding a black Harley Davidson when they failed to negotiate the curve on the transition ramp.

The motorcycle hit the inside wall, and the rider was thrown from the bike, according to Smaka. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers had closed the ramp overnight for their investigation, though it has since reopened.

The Clark County Coroner's office will identify the person killed and release official rulings on the cause and manner of death.
