A driver who ran a red light caused the death of one man and sent another to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The driver, identified by LVMPD as 29-year-old Jayson Salzman, was reportedly speeding when he ran the red light at 2:12 a.m. near the intersection of Craig Road and Rainbow Boulevard.
He struck a car that was in the intersection, killing the driver and sending the passenger to UMC in critical conditions.
Salzman, who only suffered minor injuries, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
This collision marks the 44th traffic-related fatality within Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2019.
