A vehicle intentionally hit a traffic officer during a stop Wednesday morning north of downtown Las Vegas, according to authorities.
The officer had stopped a car at C Street and Jackson Avenue for a traffic violation just before 5:50 a.m., Lt. Jason Johansson said.
As the officer came to a stop behind the car, the driver shifted into reverse and hit the officer and motorcycle, according to Johansson.
The vehicle left the scene, and the officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Officers found the suspect vehicle nearby on Las Vegas Boulevard, Johansson said, but the suspect remains at large. No description was immediately provided.
Detectives are investigating, and Jackson Avenue is closed between D and C streets for the response.
