One Dead and One Injured in Crash

One person was killed and another severely injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of West Flamingo Road and Marble Ridge Drive on the afternoon of Monday, May 7, 2018. A Jeep Wrangler was driving on south Flamingo when a Toyota Sienna made a left turn onto Flamingo from Marble Ridge, directly in front of the Wrangler.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the driver of the Jeep was a 17-year-old minor who was hospitalized with minor injuries while the driver of the Toyota, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene of the collision.

First and foremost, our hearts go out to the family of the decedent in this tragedy. With the major interstate construction currently going on here in the valley, traffic on major surface streets has gone up substantially. As a result, our office has seen a large increase in surface street collisions. With the high-speed limits on the Las Vegas streets, it is important to pay extra attention before making left turns or crossing streets with cross-traffic so incidents such as these can be avoided.
