Motorcyclist Critically Injured

A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash with a Chevrolet Tahoe Friday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. at South Valley View Boulevard and El Camino Avenue near West Sahara Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The motorcyclist, age 25, was taken to University Medical Center where he remained in critical condition as of 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Metro, the crash occurred as the Tahoe was making a left turn onto El Camino Avenue, into the path of the motorcyclist. Occupants of the Tahoe did not sustain any injuries.

Accidents such as this serve as a reminder as to the importance of Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage, particularly when driving a motorcycle or recreational vehicle, where you are completely exposed to injury should a crash occur. This coverage provides additional protection to you, your vehicle occupants, and any family members living in the household, whether they are in your vehicle, someone else's vehicle, a rental vehicle, riding a bike, or as a pedestrian.
